Theater Spotlight of the Week: Bruce Coleman
Interview with Bruce Coleman, Director of Dracula
Bruce R. Coleman is a prominent name in town when it comes to directing and designing. He has directed award-winning productions at Theatre Three, Irving Community Theater, and Uptown Players, which even includes one of my favorite productions this year, Tick, Tick....Boom! Right now, he is directing Dracula for Irving Community Theater (ICT) which opens on November 2, so it was a perfect time to feature him.

I start off by asking him about his career, how he came to Dallas, and what events led up to him to becoming a reputable director in town. I ask him about his views on the Dallas theater scene and how he chooses what shows to direct.
He talks about what attracted him to Dracula and what the audience can expect from the production. The show is a new adaptation of the Bram Stoker classic by Stephen Dietz, so I ask him what's new and different about this version. We end by talking about what he hopes the audience will get out of it, and what he has lined up next as a director.
Dracula runs from November 2 - 17, and you can make reservations online or by calling 972-252-2787.
