Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents Home for the Holidays

0

You’d better watch out! Home for the Holidays with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is coming for the entire family Nov. 23-25 at Bass Performance Hall. Featuring the 200-voice Southwestern Seminary Oratorio Chorus, this all-new show is filled with Christmas carol favorites, a family sing-along, the Dorothy Shaw Bell Choir, dancing Santas and even an appearance by jolly old St. Nick himself! All the traditions of the season and the only place in Texas that it’s guaranteed to snow every night!

The concerts take place at 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday.

Conductor Ron Spigelman is the music director of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra as well as the Metropolitan Classical Ballet, and he teaches conducting and special topics at Drury University. A native of Australia, he made his American debut with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in 1994. He has served as an associate conductor of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the FWSO and as music director of the Fort Worth Dallas Ballet, San Angelo Symphony and Texas Chamber Orchestra. His many career highlights include his critically acclaimed debut with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for the world premiere of Lowell Liebermann’s Pegasus and his Carnegie Hall conducting debut with the Buffalo Philharmonic in 2004. His guest-conducting appearances include those with the orchestras of Virginia, Syracuse, Columbus, Baltimore, San Antonio and Austin. He has also returned to Australia for performances with the Adelaide, Queensland and Sydney symphony orchestras. This season he makes his debut with the Boise Philharmonic and numerous appearances with the Syracuse Symphony.

These concerts are made possible, in part, by the generous support of Star-Telegram, the Katrine Menzing Deakins Charitable Trust, Bank of America Trustee, and Davoil Inc. Promotional support is provided by Star-Telegram and WRR Classical 101.1 FM.
