Arlington City Councilman Ron Wright will present a proclamation honoring one of the UT Arlington’s Movin’ Mavs wheelchair basketball players, Aaron Gouge, at a halftime ceremony during the team’s Friday night game against the University of Arizona. The game begins at 7:30 p.m. in Texas Hall, 701 W. Nedderman Drive. Gouge is a junior Kinesiology major who was selected Most Valuable Player by the National Intercollegiate Basketball Division last spring, and was named First Team All-American. Gouge was invited to try out for Team USA last spring and made the team. In Olympic Qualifying tournament play in August in Brazil, he was a member of the Gold Medal Winning USA Squad. The Gold Medal at the Pan-American games qualifies team USA as a top seed in the Olympics in the up-coming Beijing China Paralympics.
