Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee stops at 2 DFW churches
Mike Huckabee made two stops in DFW on Sunday, first at the New Beginnings Church in Irving and then at Prestonwood Baptist in Plano. Huckabee was also in DeSoto on Saturday, speaking at a fundraiser held by Buddy Pilgrim, nephew of Bo Pilgrim, founder of Pilgrim's Pride Corporation.
To resounding support from Pastor Jack Graham at Prestonwood Baptist, Huckabee talked to the congregation about his religious beliefs, keeping a more typical political stumping speech out. The Republican candidate was once a pastor himself before entering politics, most recently serving as governor of Arkansas. My guess is he didn't make his infamous suicide joke while speaking to the church crowds.
