DALLAS Mockingbird Station, Dallas’ first and foremost urban shopping center, will be the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex “hub” for the Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium World Record Toy Drive for Toys for Tots the week of November 6 - 12.
Mockingbird Station is hosting this toy drive to benefit North Texas children. Toys for Tots, in partnership with Walden Media and Fox Walden’s new film, Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, is aiming to collect more than 12,000 pounds of toys in ten major cities across the U.S. (with a goal for each market to collect 1,200 pounds) in order to set a Guinness World Record for Largest Toy Drive (determined by weight over the course of one week).
Dallas Mavericks’ Center Erick Dampier will be on-site to greet fans and kick off the toy drive, in conjunction with “Get Wrapped at The Station,” Mockingbird Station’s free gift wrapping Tuesday night holiday promotion (through December 18). Customers can donate unwrapped toys at the “DFW 2007 Toys for Tots Drive Toy Collection Central” located next to the Angelika Film Center, as well as in “toy chests” – drop boxes inside the Angelika and at Mockingbird Station’s Lofts Leasing Office, which is in the breezeway between Starbucks and Rockfish.
