Trinity Trust and Dallas Institute host “Designing the Trinity” conference Nov. 16
DALLAS The Trinity Trust and The Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture are partnering to present "Designing the Trinity," a conference exploring the question: "What is the role of The Trinity in the Region and in the World?" The conference will be held on Friday, November 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dallas City Hall. Discussion will center on the project plans for the revitalization and renewal of the Trinity River corridor.
The conference features planners and designers who are working daily The Trinity River Project plan. The agenda for the conference is as follows:
9:00 a.m. -- Welcome: Dr. Gail Thomas, Trinity Trust Foundation president and CEO; Dr. Larry Allums, Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture executive director
9:15 -- Introduction: Don Raines, Wallace, Roberts, Todd, Dallas; "Designing the Trinity for 21st Century Dallas," Ignacio Bunster Ossa, Wallace, Roberts and Todd, Philadelphia, consultant for The Trinity project
10:15 -- Introduction: Wendy Lopez, Lopez Garcia; "Lighting the Riverfront: Magic and Mystery," Leni Schwendinger, Light Projects, LTD, consultant for the Trinity Project, New York City
11:00 -- Break
11:15 -- Introduction: Jim Parrish, CH2MHill, Dallas; "Cleaning the River Environmentally: A Model for 21st Century Cities," Dr. John Todd, Ocean Arks International, consultant for the Trinity Project, Vermont
12:00 -- Lunch
1:30 -- "The Role of the Trinity in the Region and in the World," Mayor Tom Leppert
2:00 -- "Reclaiming the Waterfront: Reinspiriting the City," Ann Breen, Founder and Director, The Waterfront Center,

The conference comes on the heels of The Trinity Trust’s major fundraiser, LAUNCH. LAUNCH will be held Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. on the Continental Bridge overlooking downtown Dallas. LAUNCH celebrates the Trinity River Project and celebrates the unveiling of the Trinity River Corridor model, made possible by a generous grant from ALON USA.
