Sophomore Amanda Emmert has been named District Six Academic All-District by CoSIDA. Emmert, who is from Keller, Texas, was selected to the Second Team for her effort in the classroom and on the court during the 2007 season.
Emmert currently has compiled a 4.0 GPA while majoring in Marketing at DBU. Emmert during the season help lead the Patriots on the court as well. She averaged 2.44 kills per game, 3.64 digs per game, and led the team in double-doubles.
Head Coach Cathy Ray said, "I am so pleased that Amanda has received such an honorable award because that is exactly what she is in the classroom and on the court. Amanda is an all-around hard worker and studious athlete. She is always reading whether for entertainment or for school and because of her enthusiasm for education she has inspired many of our players to read books and take classes she has taken in the past. She is very deserving of this award."
