Wow, talk about your rough punishment: Two boys who pulled the ol' fire alarm prank at Maria Moreno Elementary School last week were apparently paraded in front of the rest of the school and berated by DISD police Officer Bruce Baldwin for their actions, calling them, according to the boys, "stupid," "idiots," and "dummies." Baldwin has no comment and school principal Alba Marrero at first denied that Baldwin said anything like what the boys claimed, but later admitted that she wasn't present for the entire assembly.

I guess the boys should be grateful the officer stopped at verbal castigation -- he could have subjected them to wedgies and/or swirlies, too.

The Magnetic Fields Quartet led by songwriter Stephen Merritt is resolutely "indie" so how come their music has been used in a Volvo commercial and appeared in the film Lemony Snicket? More info
