UNT volleyball falls to Denver in regular season finale
The North Texas volleyball team fell to Denver 3-0 (24-30, 14-30, 22-30) on Saturday night, but will get its chance at a rematch next week at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
Despite the loss, North Texas (12-20, 8-10 SBC) will earn the No. 7 seed at next weekend’s SBC Tournament. The Mean Green will face the hosting Pioneers (21-11, 15-3), which earned the No. 2 seed by winning the conference’s West Division.
The match will begin at 5 p.m. at Denver on Thursday, Nov. 15.
North Texas was led by Katy Prokof, who neared a significant milestone against Denver. With eight kills on the night, the senior is now only three kills shy of moving into second place in school history in career digs.
Heather Maddox was once again an outstanding two-way player for North Texas. The sophomore racked up 27 assists and tied a career high with 15 digs.
Amy Huddleston tallied a career-best seven blocks in only three games.
