Interim Keller city manager resigns
Interim City Manager Kevin Lahner notified the Mayor and City Council today of his resignation effective December 28. He’s accepted the position of City Administrator in Burlington, Wisconsin.
Readers will remember that Mr. Lahner and I had a rather significant disagreement lately, but that hardly defines our relationship or his service to Keller.
Kevin Lahner is a remarkable young man. He eagerly took the reins of Keller when asked by the Council to bridge the gap from Lyle Dresher to our next city manager. He took in stride complaints from councilmen and citizens on things that happened (or didn’t happen) on someone else’s watch, and made real strides to improve communication and performance. Even when my naivete made his job harder, he maintained composure, professionalism, and his unique ability to put people at ease.
When I cast a vote for Kevin Lahner as Interim City Manager, it was my hope that he could leverage the experience into an appointment as city manager somewhere. I’m very happy for him and his family. Please join me in congratulating Kevin and his family on their new venture. klahner@cityofkeller.com
