UPDATED: The Ticket’s Greg “The Hammer” Williams’ absence drug-related

Williams has been off the air since mysteriously leaving mid-program on October 12.

Richie Whitt at Unfair Park is reporting that KTCK The Ticket's Greg "The Hammer" Williams' mysterious disappearance from his show last month is due to a recurrence of a drug-related problem. There's no word at this point when or if Williams will return the to the Ticket.

UPDATE: Whitt says it was cocaine and that Williams will be back by the end of the month. But not today.

Gregg Williams. The Ticket. The Hardline. Now a website. www.wheresgreggo.com Check it out. I personally am a fan, and if what Ritchie Whitt is reporting is true, it would have to have been leaked by an insider to the situation. Station management is not commenting at all on Gregg's situation. And they shouldn't. If what Ritchie Whitt is reporting is true then let Gregg do what Gregg needs to do. If he does or doesn't return is not what's important. What matters is that Gregg takes care of what he needs to take care of. If he does not make a return, The Ticket and the Hardline will survive and maybe yes maybe improve. They will make adjustments to "The Presentation" and go forth. Mike Ryhner will continue to gracefully pontificate, Corby will tell a stories the way he does, and Danny will be in the on deck circle. The Hardline is what it is, does what it does with or without all. Some say the show will crumble if Gregg does not return. I think that it is what it is and will go on just as it has since last month. Good luck and Godspeed Greggo, take care of you because you're all that you have. The Ticket is a station that is one of a kind. It has been tried to be replicated in markets such as San Francisco, Atlanta, even down the road in Austin Texas (the worst attempt of all by a bunch of wannabies who really didn't have a clue) but you can not replicate what this station is. The Ticket is a tupperware party for guys where ladies listen in to hear what guys are talking about. It's a bunch of guys who hangout by the back fence with a cooler full of beer. God Bless Hank Hill. Its a neat deal. It's been said by one of the hosts..."We can do what they do, but they can't do what we do", this in reference to the on air content that makes The Ticket what it is. Carry on and may your content commensurate.

I can second that Greg is out because of a cocaine problem. I was recently in rehab with someone else that happened to be in rehab with him a few weeks before and we started talking about such and such and she asked me if I knew Greg Williams was from the Ticket. If course I did...anyways. I knew that he had been off air for awhile and she told me why he was away. As many of you know, he has aleady been to rehab for pain killer addiction. This time it was cocaine. He was spending about $2,000 a day on his habit...and that's why he is getting help. So, to end the suspicion, he is away because he is getting help for his cocaine problem.
