SMU volleyball players Candice Davis and Kathryn Wilkerson both picked up All-Conference USA honors, the league announced Wednesday night.

Davis, a sophomore libero, was named second-team All-Conference after compiling a league-leading and single-season school record-setting 597 digs, averaging 5.43 digs per game. Her overall average of 5.43 digs per game led to a ranking of 42nd in the country in digs. In conference-only matches, Davis averaged a league-best 5.98 digs per game. She also racked up 23 service aces on the season. Davis had two 35-dig matches this season and broke three school match records in digs. She was twice named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week this season. This is Davis' first All-Conference team honor.

Wilkerson was named to the All-Freshman Team following her outstanding debut season. Wilkerson, an outside hitter, led the team in double-doubles, notching 18 in regular-season play. She also led the Mustangs' active players in kills with 3.27 per game and led the team in service aces with 34.

The ninth-seeded Mustangs take on eight-seed East Carolina in the first round of the C-USA Championships Thursday at 4 p.m. If SMU wins, they will advance to the quarterfinals to face top-seeded Marshall Friday at 4 p.m.
