Strong Families Dallas to hold Hispanic Town Hall Meeting
Did you know that Dallas has the second highest divorce rate in the country — 50% higher than the national average?
We’ve long heard how Big D leads the rest of the state with the most teenage pregnancies but probably you didn’t realize that 30% of all Dallas families are headed by single parents.
Those sobering bits of trivia have led to tonight’s “Hispanic Town Hall Meeting” sponsored by the Healthy Hispanic Marriage and Family Initiative, a project of Strong Families Dallas.
Strong Families Dallas is a non-profit organization focused on providing marriage education and enrichment classes, along with other services to help “support, strengthen and empower” Latino families.
From debt counselors to marriage therapists, college recruiters to church pastors, the panel assembled to hear and answer questions at the Town Hall meeting attempts to cover every facet of life that can stress out a marriage and relationships.
The meeting is bilingual which means headsets will be on hand to offer simultaneous translations in English so that no one misses out on achieving the group’s ultimate goal:
To make Dallas strong — one family at a time.
