Fort Worth-based RadioShack to pay $8.8 million to settle overtime lawsuit

FORT WORTH According to a story in the Dallas Business Journal, it appears that Fort Worth-based electronics retailer RadioShack has settled its overtime wages suit for approximately $8.8 million.
RadioShack was being sued by over 4000 store managers, who claim that they were denied pay for working overtime, as the company classified them as exempt from overtime pay. The suit was originally filed in 2002.

An employee of Gamestop told me that they are switching their assistant managers to exempt during the peak sales period to avoid OT pay. They will switch them back to hourly after the first of year. That sounds like another lawsuit fixing to happen to me. Corporate America strikes again!
