Downtown Dallas will have New Year’s parade on December 31
DALLAS There'll be a New Year's parade in downtown Dallas on December 31 at 2 p.m. It'll have 60 entries, including the Kilgore Rangerettes and at least 15 high school bands; it'll begin at Ervay and Elm and end at Victory Park.
Strangely, the story in the DMN seems to think that the newsy part here is that the parade is being sponsored by Comerica Bank; they even put that information in the headline.

James Scott, says:
"...said Bill Palen, president of the J. Curtis Sanford Parade Committee, which last year rekindled the lapsed tradition of the annual Cotton Bowl parade."
I think they need to change the association from the Cotton Bowl Parade unless they're ready for another relapse in 2 years when the Cotton Bowl moves out of the, er, ummm, Cotton Bowl?

Sam Clark, says:
There is no need to change the name of the downtown Cotton Bowl Parade just because the football game is actually played in a nearby suburb to the west rather than at Fair Park to the east.
