Oswald’s Ghost appears at Oak Cliff’s Texas Theatre

British-born documentary filmmaker Robert Stone - not to be confused with born-in-the-U.S.A. Oliver - chose the in-the-process-of-being-remodeled Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff as the site for the southwest premiere of his documentary, Oswald's Ghost, which offers an overview of the man who assassinated President Kennedy couched in terms of the wider socio-political context of events of the day.

A more appropriate setting for the movie's screening would be hard to come by - the historic movie house was the site of the accused presidential assassin's capture by police in 1963.

Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza presented the film, which screened Monday evening, Nov. 20; a spokesperson for the Oak Cliff Foundation (which owns the property) noted that this is the first time a movie has played there since the interior of the building burned in 1995.

Renovation efforts are ongoing, and more grant money is needed to complete the work.
