Plano homeowners upset over planned tower construction
Plano residents whose homes currently look out on a golf course are concerned - to put it mildly - about the city's plans to construct a 300-ft. communications tower nearby (at the Ridgeview Pump Station, near Ridgeview Drive and Custer Road).
The city says that police and firefighters need the tower to keep their wireless laptop and two-way radio communications up to snuff for the growing community, but nearby homeowners are concerned for both the aesthetics of their views and the value of their properties.
One would be tempted to say that the homeowners are being selfish, but of course they paid big bucks for their golf course views. Nevertheless the city council plans to proceed with construction, beginning in December and projected to be completed by March 2008.

Spamboy, says:
Of course, if the local homeowners really gave two s--ts about the aesthetics around that intersection, they wouldn't have bought a home right next to a trash transfer station.
