Staph infection strikes Hurst elementary school teacher
Cleaning the restrooms daily? Radical, dudes!
An unnamed fourth-grade teacher at Donna Park Elementary School in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford school district has contracted a type of staph infection dubbed "Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus," according to school officials.
While the teacher is out on medical leave, school personnel are taking increased precautions against the spread of the infection to students, including - and I quote - "cleaning bathrooms and classrooms each day." (Which seems like a darn good idea.)
To fight against the spread of the infection, parents are being encouraged to see that their kids wash their hands and keep cuts and fingernails clean. (Once again, a good idea for general practice.)
