The streets of Indianapolis went wild after the victory

The Dallas Mavericks couldn't overcome a huge first-period deficit Friday night, allowing the Pacers to hold on in a 111-107 loss in Indianapolis. The Mavs, who had overcome huge deficits in their previous two games to win, were once again slow out of the gate --Dallas was down by 16 at one point-- but although they managed to make it close, the Pacers were the ones with the deciding push in the final minutes to close the victory.

The Mavs were led by Devin Harris, who scored 24 points, mostly from going 13-for-14 from the free throw line. Dirk Nowitzki added 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Josh Howard scored 19 points despite constant foul trouble.

Jason Terry, who had excelled off the bench this season, was far less impressive in his first start in a while, scoring just ten points on 4-of-13 shooting, including just 2-of-7 from the three-point line. Brandon Bass, on the other hand, made use of his limited minutes to score 13 points and snag 9 rebounds.
