DALLAS The Dallas Mavericks finally put together a decent effort Wednesday night, defeating the hapless Minnesota Timberwolves 109-103 in Dallas to snap their three game losing streak. The win improves the Mavs' record to 10-5 on the season.
The Mavs were led by Dirk Nowitzki, who scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Nowitzki was lethal at the free throw stripe, going 13-for-13. Dirk was one of a half-dozen Mavs scoring in double digits, including Devin Harris, who put up 22, and Jason Terry, who added 12 more.
A surprisingly effective performance from Eric Dampier, who scored 8 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, set the tone over the 2-11 Timberwolves. Brandon Bass was also good, putting up 15 points in 22 minutes.

Shuddering at the Damp.
Here are some other considerations:
Damp: a total of 31 points in 9 games this season C Bosh: 282 points in 15 games
Yeah, yeah, different supporting casts, but whatever.
Damp salary: $73 Million over 7 years, meaning we have to wait until 8/25/2011 until we can actually see a center that Johnson could run a half court offense through. Of course it will also be the same year JHo and Dirk will be free agents.
