Art openings and receptions happening this weekend
Friday
- Road Agent is opening Elliott Johnson's "Words Fall Me"
- Reflection Fine Art is holding a reception for their Annual Fine Art Holiday Miniatures show. Warning: The mini canvases may hypnotize you.
- There is a reception at Gerald Peters Gallery featuring work by the fabulous Dale Chihuly, the artist at the forefront of making glass blowing a fine art.
- and/or gallery is opening their Show #13, featuring artsits Michael Bell-Smith, Curtis Jackson Davis, Wendy Red Star, and John Salvest.
- The concept of simplicity is embraced with thirty local artists at the City Gallery reception for "Simply Waiting, Simply Hoping, Simply Celebrating". The event will also feature live performance art.
- For "Acrylic Steel", art by Tom Hollenback, William Campbell is spreading the Christmas cheer with a reception/holiday open house.
- UTD is holding its annual Fall Arts Festival all weekend.
Saturday
- Local artist Beau Comeaux's exhibit "Implied Fictions" opens Saturday at Marty Walker Gallery.
- Sun to Moon Gallery kicks off their their 3 weekend-long 6th Anniversary Celebration and Holiday Open House Saturday at noon.
- Cliff House Studio and Gallery is holding their 25th Annual Holiday Show with demonstrations in art glass, ceramics and photography
- For the kids, the Irving Arts Center is making Christmas cards at their weekly Family Funday.
- Conduit is opening the Steven Hull and Tami Demaree show.
- Dornith Doherty's "Altered Terrain" opens Saturday evening at Holly Johnson.
- Pan American Art Projects will be hosting a reception for Paul Hunter's show.
- Photographs Do Not Bend is opening a Christmas themed show, "Naughty or Nice".
- mighty fine arts is also joining the masses with an art opening featuring the work of Janet Chaffee.
- Martin Lawrence Gallery's opening reception for the evening will feature the work of Rene Lalonde.
- A mixed media group show, "Chaos Theory", is opening at 14th Street Gallery in Plano.
- And last, but definitely not least, the Bath House Cultural Center is holding an opening reception for "Seis de America", an exhibition featuring paintings and prints by six visual artists from Peru, Mexico and the USA.
