University of Dallas women’s basketball slips by Texas Lutheran

The Lady Crusaders dominated the court when they played against the Texas Lutheran Lady Bulldogs Wednesday night, winning 62-55. The Crusaders out-scored the Bulldogs by 10 points in the second half on the way to their fourth victory of the season.

UD freshmen posts Amy King (Magnolia, TX/Magnolia H.S.), Joirdan Cole (Plano, TX/Bishop Lynch H.S.), and Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.) dominated the paint all game. Center Amy King scored 18 points in only 19 minutes of playing time. King also added 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block. Center Joirdan Cole had 9 rebounds, 6 points, 2 steals, and 1 block, while freshman guard/forward Cara Sczepanski added 12 points, 8 rebounds, steals, and 1 block.

Senior guard Shanie Cardinal (Houston, TX/Cypress Falls H.S.) led the Crusaders with 5 steals and added a team-leading 4 assists. Cardinal scored 16 points, including shooting 8 for 10 from the free-throw line.

The Lady Crusaders next play on Sunday, December 2nd against Millsaps College in Jackson, MS at 3:00pm.
