Clear Channel's chief weapon is surprise

— According to this blogpost from the Dallas Observer, it appears Clear Channel is quitting the Spanish language radio business at midnight tonight. 97.1 La Preciosa is being switched to an all-Christmas music format, and likely will remain in English after the Christmas season is over.

It's been a long hard road for 97.1 since the Eagle was given the shaft by Clear Channel. You can still hear Spanish radio on 94.1 Recuerdo, as well as the ever-popular 107.9 Piolin up the dial.
