Dallas-based company aims to bury radioactive material in West Texas

Radioactivity is serious business.
Waste Control Specialists, based out of Dallas, has plans to bury low-level radioactive material at its plant West Texas plant in Andrews County, bordering New Mexico.
Naturally,* environmentalists/residents are working to get the state to reject the proposal, saying regulators have failed to require ensure necessary safety measures, such as making sure high winds and rain won't disperse the material into the air or water.
Quoth Representative Lon Burnam, D-Fort Worth to the Star-Telegram: "This permit opens the door for Texas to become a dumping ground for the nation's most dangerous toxic waste. I hope [the state] will realize this and deny the permit."
