Dallas restaurant Vern’s Place to celebrate new Deep Ellum location on Monday December 3

Vern's Place will celebrate its new location at 2807 Elm Street in Dallas' Deep Ellum with a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on Monday December 3, an event designed to encourage the community to come out and show support of its survival. (The restaurant nearly came to an untimely end after the rent was raised on its previous location.)

The ribbon-cutting will include plenty of momentous throat-clearing, huzzahs, and napkins waved in the air as well as speechifying from illustrious figures such as Pastor Rickie Rush.

Since moving into its new location, Vern's has expanded its hours, and is now serving home-style breakfast starting at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, in addition to its lunch which stretches out languorously through the afternoon until 5 p.m. No more Sunday hours but hey, there's always Cafe Brazil just a few doors down.
