Irving-based EFJ, Inc.’s EFJohnson subsidiary snags $1 million order from Dept. of Defense
IRVING EFJ, Inc. announced today that its EFJohnson subsidiary has received an order from the US Department of Defense, following the original $76 million order announced on December 11, 2006. With this order, the company has announced follow-on orders in excess of $8 million during 2007. The latest $1 million order calls for EFJohnson to provide the Department of Defense with additional Project 25 compliant portable radios.
"EFJohnson has enjoyed a lengthy relationship with the DoD and we are extremely pleased with their continued confidence in our solutions," said Michael E. Jalbert, chairman and chief executive officer of EFJ, Inc. The company shipped the order in the third quarter, Jalbert added.
EFJohnson is a leading provider of two way radios and communication systems for law enforcement, fire fighters, EMS, and the military. Founded in 1923, the company has a lengthy history of leadership in numerous communication industry standards initiatives and organizations and was one of the first developers of wireless communications products to be fully compliant with federal government Project 25 interoperability standards.
