University of Texas at Dallas seeks “battle cry”

The University of Texas at Dallas is currently seeking a fight song or "battle cry," as it were.

UTD mascot "Temoc," the comet.

UTD mascot "Temoc," the comet.

Last year, former Student Government Vice President, Felicity Lenes, brought up the issue in hopes to stir up excitement and some of that ol' time school spirit. You know, like real universities have.

Once approved, the fight song will be used at sport games and other times of mass socially-acceptable aggressive brainwashings.

Oh mang, it has "heck yeah" in it - such controversy!

And shame on the first commenter for botching Snoop's first line in The Next Episode. tisk, tisk

I thought the same thing when I started there this fall (sporting games?).

Here's to hoping the students will throw caution to the wind and sing the more foreboding version of "heck yeah" when attempting to strike fear into the hearts of their opponents (actually, I can think of a couple of choice phrases that might be more appropriate).

Here's my submission, which probably won't make sense to anyone who didn't actually go there:

Our mascot looks like a flaming sperm,
and cripples stole his name,
Who the hell comes here to play sports?
Chess is our type of game!

Why are we even here right now?
School spirit's not our style!
Let's drink away our scholarships,
we're out with a Woosh Heil!

In keeping with the spirit of UT's "I've Been Working On the Railroad" style fight song, UTD could form a song around The Little Engine That Could.
