UPDATED: Florida man to protest Muslim Day at Six Flags Over Texas
In the meantime, somebody tell this guy the damage has already been done.
The Islamic Circle of North America, a grassroots Muslim organization, will be hosting a family day at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington on October 14th.
Meanwhile, Joe Kaufman, chairman of Americans Against Hate—a self-proclaimed "terrorist watchdog group"—has pledged to protest the event with as many people as he can muster.
Kaufman and other AAH officials accuse the Islamic Circle of having terrorist ties, specifically linking them to Hamas. The ICNA says that's a lie.
According to this press release, Kaufman has sent twenty signed letters to each of Six Flags' Board of Directors, claiming the event will be a threat to Dallas and surrounding areas.
AAH maintains the protest, planned for noon to 2:00 p.m., will be a peaceful one.
In the meantime, somebody tell this guy the damage has already been done.
UPDATE: The small protest went on as planned, bringing in around 10-15 supporters of AAH who reportedly carried on "peacefully." Kaufman was served with a temporary restraining order and an October 22 hearing will determine whether the order will be made a temporary injunction.
