Plano dismantles the Wildcats
Plano avenged last week's District 9-5A loss to Allen by unleashing early on the winless Lake Highlands Wildcats.
Plano (4-1, 1-1) stretched out a 34-0 halftime lead to defeat the Wildcats (0-5, 0-2), 41-6. Plano quarterback Carson Meger ignited the first half romp by going 12-for-12 for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Then, Meger's defense stepped up to hold the Wildcats to 68 total offensive yards in the first half.
Next week, Plano, who is ranked by MaxPreps.com as the 24th-best team in the state, hosts Berkner. Berkner (1-4, 0-2) suffered a 49-56 double-overtime loss to Allen on Friday night.
Lake Highlands takes on Plano West (3-2, 1-1). The Wolves are coming off a seven-point loss to Plano East.
