Disney act Jonas Brothers draws thousands of young fans to Texas State Fair on Monday

— The Jonas Brothers, Disney channel's latest teen-pop star vehicle, drew a mob of approximately 20,000 fans, mostly pre-teen girls, to the State Fair of Texas where the trio -- Joe, Kevin, and Nick -- performed an hour-long scream-filled set on Monday afternoon.

The allure of Disney combined with the nice weather and Columbus-Day holiday drew what Fair officials said would be the blockbuster music event of this year's Fair. (For the remaining musical events at the Fair, go here.)

While regular Fair hours run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., the gates were opened early at 7 a.m., to accommodate crowds that began arriving in the wee morning hours.

"They were already here at 6 this morning," said spokeswoman Nancy Wiley. By 1:30 p.m., a massive traffic jam leading to the fairgrounds created hour-long delays.

We've been out here since about 10:30," said Sabrina Dean of Arlington. She came with her two daughters, Michaela and Sarah, who managed to wiggle their way up to the front of the stage without her.

According to the DMN, about 200 people were treated for heat exhaustion at the event.
