North Lake College celebrating 30 years with festival
North Lake College, part of the Dallas County Community College District, will celebrate their 30th anniversary with a free festival on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will include concerts by the Grammy-nominated Latin Band and the Inner City All-Stars, dance performances by such diverse groups as the North Lake Dance Team and Repertoire Dancers, Nimitz Ballet Folklorico, and the Nepalese Dancers. Heck, you can even see a champion yo-yoer, as North Lake student Jess Garcia, a four-time South Central Regional yo-yo winner, a three-time Texas yo-yo champion and a two-time Oklahoma champion, will put on a show of his skills.
