UPDATED with video: Fathers, children rescued after night on Arlington sandbar
Updated 12:53 p.m., October 11, 2007
Thank God those people were rescued when they were; otherwise, they'd have had to deal with Backwoods Larry.
ARLINGTON Okay, here's a strange one: Two dads and their four combined kids spent most of Wednesday night at River Legacy Parks in Arlington after going for a hike and somehow getting themselves stranded on a sandbar in the middle of the Trinity River.
So many questions: Why are these guys taking kids, reportedly as young as 3, on any kind of strenuous hike, especially one that would involve them fording a river? Who doesn't carry a cell phone these days, especially when going on a hike? And finally, who knew that Arlington had any kind of backwoods?
