Houston direct marketing agency opens office in Dallas, changes its name

DMN3, a Houston-based direct-marketing agency formerly known as Direct Marketing Network, has opened an office in Dallas which will have 8 to 10 employees and be headed by executive creative director Ed Stafford.

The company, whose clients include Jason's Deli, American Airlines Federal Credit Union, and Perot Systems, changed its name to emphasize the fact that it's focusing on ALL direct marketing disciplines, i.e., "we are ready to jump on-board this Internet thingie-do."

Maybe it's not totally common but isn't "DMN" at least somewhat used as an abbreviation for the Dallas Morning News? I know this company has a "3" at the end of the DMN there, but to me, changing your name to "DMN3" just as you open an office in Dallas is potentially trouble. I mean, why not just call your company "Losing Readers", or "Sinking Ship", or "The Titanic". Haha. Just kidding, DMN. And by DMN, I mean the Dallas Morning News. See? Already it's confusing.
