TCU 38, Stanford 36
The TCU Horned Frogs made a strong case for the #1 spot in all of college football Saturday, beating the same Stanford team 38-36 that beat former #1 USC last week, and in so doing preventing Stanford from their first win streak since 2005. The game was a back-and-forth battle all afternoon, until the fourth quarter when a pair of Aaron Brown touchdowns put the Horned Frogs up for good.
TCU quarterback Andy Dalton had an excellent game, going 23-for-34 for 340 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Dalton also added a rushing touchdown, a fumble and a safety as well in a busy day.
The Horned Frogs' rushing attack was led by Aaron Brown, who ran for 92 yards and a touchdown and caught five passes for 44 yards and another touchdown, both coming in the critical fourth quarter rally. Receiver Jimmy Young also had a good day, catching three passes for 109 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown late in the third quarter.
