Via Unfair Park, news has come through that the Club Dada doorman of several years and rightly designated "icon" of the Dallas music/ID checking scene has been admitted to John Peter Smith hospital after suffering a seizure on Friday. John "Beard" Brewer was put on a breathing tube, and while he has since been removed, doctors are still unsure of what caused his seizure. While this is bad enough news, unfortunately Brewer does not have health insurance. To alleviate some of the medical bills, Club Dada will be hosting a benefit show on October 28th, set to begin at 1 p.m. Thus far David Garza, of Austin fame and beginning a residency at LA's Largo soon, has committed to perform at the benefit. We will update as more information comes in.
