Just got this little message in the ol' inbox alerting the royal "we" that some Bat Mastersons and a Mumbles will be joining together to create more of that rock & roll/punk splendor.
The Bat Mastersons' Byron Lord (bass/vocals) and David DiPietro (drums) have joined forces in a new musical alliance with Darrin Robinson (lead guitar). The band is currently rehearsing new material and will begin performing live in the Dallas area and beyond in the upcoming months.
Like the Bats, Darrin (formerly of the Mumbles) is a longtime veteran of the Dallas music scene. The Mumbles were a 2007 nominee for Best Cover Band in the recent Dallas Observer Music Awards.
As has been the the band's custom since 1989, the new configuration will continue to focus on the original tunes of Byron Lord, with the possibility of an occasional cover thrown in for good measure.
Stay tuned to BatMastersons.com as well as the Mumbles MySpace page for all the latest details as they become available.
