Gay List Daily debuts, launches Dallas edition
'Sassy' lifestyle e-publication debuts in Dallas, plans national expansion in 2008.
DALLAS Gay List Daily, a swank new e-publication 'dedicated to making trendy gays even more trendy and gay,' has launched its inaugural edition in Dallas. Subscribers, who can sign up for free on their website, receive Gay List Daily in their email inboxes every morning (Monday -- Friday). Each issue highlights one single item that the publication's editor and writers think Dallas-area gays and lesbians would enjoy reading about, including a weekend guide on Thursdays that focuses on events, community activities and other fun happenings for the upcoming weekend.
"We don't focus specifically on 'gay' things per se, but rather look at the entire world around us and review it from a fun, sassy gay perspective," said Cooper Smith, editor-in-chief and publisher of Gay List Daily. "If there's a new restaurant, undiscovered clothing store or hilarious website that we think our readers would find interesting, we're on it! Our goal is to have fun and make people laugh, all while giving them an inside-edge on the latest and greatest going on around them."
Gay List Daily's founder is already looking to add new editions in the near future, including a national "everywhere" edition in early 2008 and another local edition in a yet-to-be-determined U.S. city by the end of next year.
"The overwhelmingly positive reaction we've received since our soft launch a couple of weeks ago has been extremely energizing. Our readers have really responded favorably to the hilariously witty writing, and they've been forwarding the emails to their friends all over the country. We've had a lot of people outside of Dallas ask when it's coming to their city, which is the ultimate compliment we can receive," added Smith.
As of mid-October, subscribers number near 1,000, with a goal of 1,500 more signed up by month's end.
