TCU senior broadcast journalism major Rashi Vats spent last semester in London serving an internship position with CBS across the pond. The director of that internship program, Donald Jackson, was so impressed with Ms. Vats' professionalism and work ethic that he rated her "... by far the best we have had at CBS."
It should come as little surprise, then, that Vats was selected as one of 25 expenses-paid fellowship awardees for a summer program put on by the International Radio and Television Society Foundation (IRTS) in New York City, where she worked for eight weeks on the CBS newsroom team, conducting research, assisting on shoots and acting in support of interviews and broadcasts.
Seems she impressed the folks in New York the same way she did those in jolly ol' England: according to IRTS director of academic programs Kathy Crawford, Rashi exhibited "diligence and wonderful attitude." Which may go a long way towards securing her a permanent position at CBS upon graduation.
