Woman buys an iPod, ends up with a box of rocks
There is an iPod thief on the loose, and they are putting rocks in the boxes in place of the iPods. Either that or the rocks thought it would be funny to dress up as iPods for Halloween. To make matters worse, Target, where the woman purchased the iPods, refused to give her a full refund. They did give her an in store credit, but they are out of iPods. Seriously Target, she already has two handfuls of very expensive rocks. Give her the refund already.

Chad Jones, says:
In the store's defense, the mix-up does comport with Apple's ad campaign.

Why bother replacing the ipod with rocks?

Aaron Johnson, says:
Buy the iPod, take it home, remove iPod, fill with similar weighted rocks, return the package looking sealed in celophane and weighing the same as an iPod. Get money back.

Hmmmm, I thought the package displayed the iPod, though? Isn't most of the packaging clear?

Scott Doyle, says:
Meh, other Target stores surely have iPods - [edited by PegNews.com staff] they won't let the lady go to another store?
I guess someone just shrink-wrapped the box for the return. Could people be so dense that they don't check for the iPod actually being in the box when someone returns it? Seems like they aren't sold shrink-wrapped, so that'd be a bit of a clue.
And srsly, nbc5i needs to get with the times - all iPods, save the shuffle, have video these days. =p

Hey Scott, if you want people to respect the point you're making, please refrain from using epithets

Hey Catherine, I'm not terribly worried if people agree with me or not regarding Target's return policy - especially if an epithet is their deciding factor.
But I'll keep it in mind for future comments out of respect for y'alls cause. =)

Rawlins Gilliland, says:
Scott, any 'cause' (as you put it) that Catherine has, if any, you can file under 'character'. Derogatory expressions commonly used to reference ethnicities, race, gender, sexual orientations, socio-economic class, etc. ....even when not 'ill intended' are harmful insidiously. I'd like to see ours as the era where the common use of common slurs becomes a thing of the past. Besides, like it or not, in an era of political correctness...whether you are in or out of the elevated consciousness loop....you do yourself no favors.
Postscript: The terrific thing about Pegasus is that it is both an arena for journalistic anarchy and a place where civility is prized. No mean feat. Cheers..

Your thoughts are noted, Rawlins. Fact is that I'm perfectly fine with the term used, in fact I didn't think twice about it until someone pointed it out. No ill-will whatsoever involved, simply a label. It's my observance that more often than not, stereotypes come about b/c of a common behavior among a group. I would know, b/c my spending habits are in line with the stereotype.
There's plenty of non-PC stuff on the site. It was brought to my attention they didn't approve, and I won't use the term again. Sure, if I had said it with derogatory intent, I'd be concerned about my 'character'. Considering it's simply a classification based on a common behavior, I'll sleep fine tonight.

Scott Doyle- "Damn, whaddyou-say-dude?"
As a side note (No, it's not Scott's day in the barrel) this little thing you do with 'because'- abbreviating it to 'b/c'- what's that all about, how did you come to use such economy. Just askin'.

Scott Doyle, says:
Laziness, Mr. Yost. Plain and simple.
I can't stand most interwebs-speak, i.e. u instead of you, but I support abbreviations such as b/c or imo (in my opinion). Can't be bothered.
