Verdict in Holy Land Muslim charity trial in Dallas put on hold for the weekend
Hey, whaddya want, the judge is out of town on a conference.
A federal jury reached a verdict in the Holy Land Muslim charity trial in Dallas on Thursday night but -- oddly -- it was put on hold for the weekend.
Five men are on trial for their involvement with the "Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development," a Muslim charity based in Richardson that was shut down in 2001 and accused of sending money to terrorists.
Jurors had deliberated for 19 days when they reached a verdict on Thursday. But presiding U.S. District Judge Joe Fish was out of town at a conference. Oh well. Sorry, guys. Have a nice weekend.
