TCU tennis doubles team receives berth into ITA Championships
Macall Harkins and Anna Sydorska one of three doubles teams to receive at-large bids.
The TCU women's tennis doubles team of Macall Harkins and Anna Sydorska received an at-large bid on Tuesday to play in the doubles portion of the 2007 ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Tennis Championships in Columbus, Ohio, on Nov. 1-4.
Harkins and Sydorska, ranked No. 14 nationally, were one of three doubles teams to receive the at-large selection. The TCU duo is coming off an impressive run at the Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional Championships, where the Frogs knocked off two seeded opponents before falling in a tightly contested match in the finals.
Last season, Sydorska and Ana Cetnik won three matches at the National Indoor Championship, including an upset victory over the top-ranked tandem in the nation, before falling in the finals. Sydorska also competed at the event in 2005, reaching the quarterfinals with partner Helena Besovic.
The ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Tennis Championships date back to 1984, with TCU making its sixth appearance this season. The event will be held at the Racquet Club of Columbus and hosted by Ohio State University.
