Grand Prairie Central Park: a preview
Grand Prairie's Central Park project could become a focal point for the city.
Spreading over 60-plus acres west of the planned Highway 161 between Arkansas Lane and Warrior Trail, the park is the home to Prairie Paws Adoption Center and Central Bark, the doggie park, and the planned site of the city's new police and senior facilities.
But more than that, City Manager Tom Hart sees an opportunity for the city to make a statement about its parks facilities. He presented some of the land usage concepts being developed to the city council in a briefing session Oct. 16.
Five man-made lakes are possibly the most striking part of the park and serve as drainage and water management for the area.
