You already know about PPT getting a look from the Grammy folks, but there are other Idol Records artists who are similarly being considered to be considered for a Grammy nomination. You could say, the Grammy people are entertaining the idea of giving them a look for a Grammy. The Grammy people have not yet, and may potentially not have, bitten their thumbs in the direction of some of Dallas' bands. Ummmm, is there more? Probably best that there's not. Just read the email from Idol for yourself.
Idol Records had 3 artists make the final round of artists to be voted on by the Grammy Board for the official nominations for the 2008 Grammy Awards which will be announced on Dec. 6. Out of the thousands of albums that were released last year, they are now in the final voting field of aprox. 50 artists / releases per category to be voted for the actual award nominations.
The Artists and fields include:
- Record of the Year / Black Tie Dynasty / I Like U
- Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group / Black Tie Dynasty /Tender
- Best Rock Song / Black Tie Dynasty / I Like U
- Best Rock Song / Black Tie Dynasty / Tender
- Best Rock Album / Black Tie Dynasty / Movements
- Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group / PPT / Work It Out
- Best Rap Song / PPT / Work It Out
- Best Rap Album / PPT / Tres Monos In Love
- Best Hard Rock Performance / Mitra / Crucifixed
Black Tie Dynasty are in the middle of yet another great tour and have been playing to packed audiences They are in Los Angeles tonight and here are the remaining dates of the tour. After they return they will start pre-production on their follow up to their highly successful “Movements” album and will begin recording in early 2008 once again with John Congleton (The pAper chase, Explosions In The Sky, Polyphonic Spree)
Alright, Grammy people. Who do we gotta [bake cookies for] around here to get to the next freakin' round?!
