The Mean Green might want to consider running more if they want to win the occasional football game

— The high-flying Mean Green was unable to keep up with Middle Tennessee State Saturday night, losing five turnovers en route to a 48-28 blowout loss. The loss dropped UNT to 1-7 thus far in new coaching savant Todd Dodge's rookie season.

Giovanni Vizza had an up-and-down day, going 25-for-45 for 294 yards and two touchdowns, but also throwing four interceptions.

Running back Jamario Thomas had 10 carries for 89 yards, most of which came on a 77-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. True to form for a pass-first, pass-second team, Thomas rarely touched the ball after that, and the route was on.
