Jennifer Lopez/Marc Anthony tour helping fight childhood obesity
Not that we like to spread chismes (gossip), but the latest, or not so latest, rumor spreading about Jennifer Lopez is not that she is just pregnant and possibly pregnant with twin boys, but that she will be taking three months off next year.
If you doubt the rumors, it’s easy enough to confirm. Just hang out at the American Airlines Center to catch her on-the-road debut with hubby Marc Anthony on Tuesday night.
If Lopez is pregnant and trying to hide her growing panza (stomach) by wearing those loose, flowing tops that she’s been photographed in so much lately, it would be rather ironic.
Why? Because Lopez and Anthony have dedicated one dollar from every ticket sold of their cross-country tour to go towards a program to reduce obesity — childhood obesity, that is.
The program is called ING Run For Something Better and it’s a kids' fitness program “that aims to reduce childhood obesity by introducing youngsters to the benefits of running, physical fitness, and healthy lifestyle choices.”
"When I was a kid, we spent most of our time outside visiting in the neighborhood with friends. This is the first generation of kids who are so sedentary and the first whose parents might outlive them," Lopez said in a statement. "We really need to be active in encouraging healthy eating and the joys and fun of exercising."
Funny how she’s suddenly feeling so “maternal.”
Yet, Lopez has always been a Yin/Yang kind of personality. In addition to her debut at the American Airlines Center, Lopez is having another debut that same night on the Spanish-language television network Univision.
Lopez is debuting as the creator and executive producer of an original five-part, dramatic miniseries titled "Como Ama Una Mujer."
"How a Woman Loves" is the English translation and it’s based on Lopez’ first album in Spanish that was released last March.
Lopez won’t be acting in the miniseries, which was filmed in Mexico, but she is featured at the end of each episode singing one of the songs from the album the series is based on.
The series is about a woman’s journey to find her true soul mate but “life” gets in her way and “threatens to break her spirit,” according to the press release. It will be shown at 9 p.m. on Univision.
With so much going on in her life right now, it’s a pretty safe bet that the only thing that may threaten Lopez’ spirit is exhaustion and perhaps morning sickness.
