Art Institute of Dallas students selected to participate in Cool vs. Cruel competition

Art Institute of Dallas students Stephanie Womack and Stacia Larry have been chosen to represent the Institute at the U.S. Humane Society's annual Cool vs. Cruel fashion design competition in New York City.

The entries will be judged by a panel of celebrities and designers, and the overall winner (selected from 16 finalists from Art Institute schools nationwide) will be awarded a trip to NYC for an awards presentation (Nov. 8), along with a week-long internship with a big-name designer.

Donna Sapp, Dir. of Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Dallas, gushes: "This year we had so many outstanding entries that we couldn’t choose just one! We are very impressed with the creativity of the students, and we think we may have a winner on our hands!”

Ms. Womack's creation is a silky-looking fake-fur-trimmed cocktail dress, while the garment created by Ms. Larry is described as a "rust/brown/gold faux cocoon coat with hood." Looks toasty, I must say.
