Duncanville High School officer accused of unnecessarily macing student

3

The aunt of a Duncanville High School student is accusing and questioning the actions of a school officer who she believes unnecessarily maced and handcuffed her nephew.

The incident occurred on the campus after the 17-year-old student, Barry Mondine Jr., was asked by the officer to show his student I.D. card. Barry, who was accompanied by his aunt Regina Turner at the time, acknowledged he didn't have the card and attempted to exit the campus at the request of the officer.

But Barry apparently headed for a different exit than the one the guard suggested, so the he latter pushed the former, who then called the latter a name, resulting in the latter spraying mace in the former's face, hand-cuffing the former and issuing him 45 days in an alternative education center.
