DALLAS Beginning Friday September 8, and running through Friday September 21, the SPCA is launching a campaign to raise awareness of the importance of adopting animals from a shelter or rescue group.
To kick off the SPCA of Texas's "Adopt Me, Surrender You" event, SPCA of Texas President James Bias "surrendered" himself to the Dealey Animal Care Center on Friday; on Saturday September 8 at 11 a.m., he'll have himself "transferred" to the SPCA's Perry Animal Care Center to highlight the importance of adopting shelter pets and encourage the Dallas/Fort Worth community to adopt him through donations.
In addition to surrendering himself at the SPCA's Dallas and McKinney shelters, James will surrender himself online. The public is encouraged to also "surrender" themselves and to ask their friends and family, via email, to "adopt" them by donating to the SPCA of Texas. James has set his adoption goal at $5,000 and hopes that the public will get him "adopted" by helping him reach his goal.
To "surrender" yourself, hit this link; to check and see if you have a friend that has "surrendered" themselves, go here.
