Texas 34, TCU 13
AUSTIN TCU was unable to capitalize on a gritty first half Saturday, blowing a 10-0 halftime lead in an eventual 34-13 blowout loss to Texas. Using two key interceptions by Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, including one that was returned by Torrey Stewart 45 yards for a touchdown, TCU looked to be primed to beat the Longhorns in their own house after 30 minutes.
The third quarter, however, proved to be all Texas. TCU's offense came to a grinding halt, while Colt McCoy and running back Jamaal Charles were able to regain their composure and dominate TCU's overmatched defense. A Nate Jones touchdown and Ryan Bailey FG left the game tied after three quarters, 10-10, before Texas scored 24 unanswered points in the fourth quarter alone.
