Culinary Concierge magazine launches in Dallas-Fort Worth
What the &$# is a "culinary cognoscenti"?
Culinary Concierge Multi-Market Media recently launched Culinary Concierge Magazine Dallas/Fort Worth, a third market of a foodie magazine conglomerate whose first two editions come out in New Orleans and The Emerald Coast, FL.
The Dallas/Fort Worth edition includes features written by Dallas-area culinary cognoscenti Dotty Griffith, Jim White, and Teresa Gubbins, yo-ho, as well as national writers John Mariani and Lorin Gaudin.
A platform for local food journalists to share bits of history, ingredients, recipes, people and pleasures that culminate to create the cuisine and the dining experience in an ever-evolving marketplace, Culinary Concierge is a quarterly publication founded in 2000 by Kendall Gensler, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained culinary professional, cookbook editor, and food stylist.
In 2005, the publication was recognized by the International Association of Culinary Professionals as a finalist for an Award of Excellence. The magazine is available via annual subscription, on newsstands, as an amenity in fine hotels, and "on demand" in a digital edition format on culinaryconcierge.com. The next launch will be Atlanta in 2008.

Ms. Gubbins's brief history of gelato in Dallas is well worth reading (pp. 42-45 in the current issue).

Looking forward to reading it, as well.
One question, about "The Emerald Coast, FL." Is that what is also known as "The Redneck Riviera" or "Baja Alabama"? Won't the Superintendent of the Brand of Costa Smeralda get upset? (Florida Panhandle or Sardinia ... Where would I rather go?)

There's nothing more morose than a party crasher's "snark done sadly" view of things, especially when they arrived too late for the free champers. Excuses... always excuses.
BTW, TG... good on ya for more foodie "covering the earth." Benjamin Moore would be proud!

Scott... thanks for that PDF. Since my wife and I visit family a LOT in NO we were told that this is a similar new child there. The cover price means NADA, so Plastic Surgery Mag can rest assured that nobody will pay for it instead of the yearly 12 bucks we can pay for D if we threaten to cancel.
Having done a lot of biz travel, I think this can give the 'Where' mags in hotels, etc. a good run for the travellers' money. And, with Dottie and TG telling them where to eat, they will never be threated with 'noodling away' their valuable time at a boring place.
